Whitney Trumble has been working with CCR for ten years. She grew up in the Chicagoland suburbs and attended University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana for undergrad and Columbia University in New York for graduate school (MA of International Affairs in Economic and Political Development with a concentration in conflict resolution). Since college, she has lived in a number of places including Minneapolis; Mendoza, Argentina (where she taught English); NYC; and Bogota, Colombia. She currently lives in Rogers Park.
As Finance and Operations Director, Whitney is responsible for human resources, accounting, finance, bill paying, IT, and grant monitoring. “There is no ‘typical day,’” she says. On any given day, you may find her entering/paying bills, communicating with vendors, running payroll, or IT troubleshooting. “Whatever needs to get done in the moment. There are new challenges every day and that excites my problem-solving mind.” When asked about a favorite memory from work, she responds, “I love all of our events because it gives me an opportunity to talk to volunteers, board members, auxiliary board members….One of my favorite events was Martinis that Matter at Marty’s Martini Bar.”
Whitney’s favorite sports teams are the Bulls, the Bears, the White Sox, and, reluctantly, the Blackhawks (she admits she’s not a huge hockey fan). When Whitney’s not working, you can find her reading a good book, exploring the city with friends and family, or, more recently, working on renovating her new house (ask her about re-painting!).
